The first has a first

Well, it's now done. We have an official broken arm. Technically it's a fracture, but it's more dramatic to say broken. Riley fell off a trampoline and crack! Actually, the fall was very anticlimatic. You image a kid flying through the air and smacking into the ground. I'm glad it wasn't like that. Here's how it all went down. Riley was standing and went to lean on the safety net (our tramp has one that he's used to leaning on) but the net on this tramp had been ripped so Riley just leaned and fell off onto his side. At first Jason and I thought that it was just a bad sprain, but after a little while and some swelling we decided to take him to the emergency room. While waiting to be seen by the doctor, Riley went and played in the kid's waiting room like nothing had happened. I kept thinking that he probably just has a bad sprain and how stupid I'll feel that I brought him in and there's nothing that can be done. So after x-rays and when the doc examined and confirmed that he had a fracture, I was relieved. That sounds terrible, I know. But moms will understand the wrenching decision to "take" or "not to take" your child to the doctor. When you make the right call you just feel relieved.

Darn Tramps, I swear I will never get one after Jayken broke his leg. I saw theat Whitney has a broken arm too from one. I guess they keep the Dr's in business. I was wondering what happened to Riley when I saw him at school yesterday. He is such a cute kid, and now he looks so tough! Hope he gets better.

I totally hear you about the to take or not to take to the Dr. choice. I always feel so relieved when they say, "You made a good choice." and then they can usually make my little one feel better. We feel so bad about Riley's arm and glad things are better. Love you guys.

We had the same situation with Kimberly when she fell off her little 3-wheeler push trike, she fell and I just thought maybe she had just spranged her arm but when Scott got home, her arm had swelled up more, so we decided to take her to the ER and they confirmed that she had a green break (like a green limb, it doesnt totally break but splittered like).
Then Shauna broke her arm when her and Kimberly played rocket at Betty's. Two weeks after she got her cast off, she fell on the new waxed floors at school and broke her hand, I just knew the dr.'s were going to have their minds running if we had abused her or something, but she plainly explained what happened.
So welcome to the broken bone parents club.
Hope he gets better soon.

If you come down to Tooele, drop by and I'll give you some salsa that me and Kimberly made. It's like the salsa Betty made. I think Betty would be proud of us, you'll have to check out my blog and see the end result.
