This year's theme was the ranch. As some of you may or may not know, I grew up on a sheep ranch. An opportunity I wouldn't change, even if I could. I can say that now that I'm older and understand what "hindsight is 20/20" means and all those not so good memories on the ranch are turning into life lessons learned. (Notice I said older, not more responsible) Anyway, we went to some of the "hot spots" on the ranch and reminisced about some of those life lessons and other good times. It was a great time and thanks to Richard and Jenny for all of the planning involved.
Jason just kickin' it with Conrad and Walt. (Conrad is the baby and Walt is the dog.)
Addi and Riley with their cousins playing bingo that Jenny made up with things pertaining to the ranch and the family.
Jason was quite the tie-dye t-shirt maker. We all enjoyed twisting rubber bands onto t-shirts. (That's a sentence I never would have imagined saying.)
This is Emma, one of my niece's. She's only 4 and is an expert babysitter. At the 4th of July parade she held Conrad rather than gather candy because she wanted to and because she "already had a bag of candy from another parade." Amazing!
This is my brother Richard modeling his latest line of tie-dye shirts for men! Really!!
At the beginning of this adventure there were actually 3 people in the canoe. Poor uncle Steve was left by himself as the paddle boat was raided by cousins mid-pond before coming to dock.
My Dad with Conrad
Some of the cousins riding in the mule. That's what we call the six wheeler.
My Dad teaching me how to drive the bulldozer. Thanks Dad. It was awesome. Next time I'd like to feel even more empowered by taking down a tree! Only if it's okay with you, of course.
