April is a happening month. There are birthdays galore in our family. I look forward to celebrating because that means spring is here....or should be. I've come to the conclusion that spring time in Woodruff is just a figure of speech. That, or spring must really be in a bad mood.
I curled Addi's hair. Yep, you read that right. She just looked so cute, and I wanted to document the significance of the moment so that one day when Addi comes to me and asks why I never curled her hair, I'll have proof that I did. I mean, why buy flowers? They just die. Why curl your hair? The curls just fall out. I curled it once. What more do you want from me? Alright, I love getting flowers, even if they die. And I'll probably curl her hair again, maybe.
Addi turned the big 5 this year. I let her pick out a birthday cake from Smith's. I figure it's easier to let someone else do the work. Talk about awesome! I know how lazy you think I am, and it's partly true. However, I would rather my child remember a fun birthday cake instead of one that is sunk in the middle with plain chocolate frosting and writing that looked like a blind 90 year old wrote on it. (No offense to the blind or the elderly.) So here's the masterpiece that I gladly paid for: a Barbie ballerina cake.
Addi had a party and it was just her and 3 boys. Her girl friends were out of town. They had fun all the same. I was just glad the house didn't explode from all the energy. Think about it. 5 year old energy times 4 in a confined space.
2 weeks after Addi's birthday we celebrated Conrad's. He's now the man of the house at age 2.
Perhaps you noticed the birthday cake. Conrad didn't exactly get to pick it out. It's not like he's going to remember, and I wanted a smaller cake so I wouldn't eat as much. Now that's thinking ahead. In fact, I ate the last quarter of the cake this morning. Just think if it was a bigger cake. Look how many calories I saved myself today.

Addi looks beautiful. Amelia has curled Grace's hair more than I have so I totally agree with documenting it so they know. Happy Birthday Addi and Conrad. I love the cakes. David said you all had a fun time a few weeks ago. I missed seeing all of you. We love you guys and it was fun to see your post. Hopefully spring will come sometime. Love you.
