Starting summer

This summer we signed Riley up for t-ball. You'd think he has never played before by watching him. He's played plenty with Jason, grandpa and the neighborhood kids, yet when getting up to bat he stood with his back to the pitching mound and faced the catcher. When that was sorted out and he hit the ball, he just stood there not doing anything. We were telling him to drop the bat and run. Eventually he dropped the bat and started walking/trotting to 1st. Perhaps he was just shy, but we had, and still have to tell him to run. Anyway, he's having fun and we're having fun watching him.

Conrad was blessed on June 7th. It's always great to share the day with family and friends. Thanks for all the love and support.
Jason's birthday was June 17th and Riley is unbearingly persistent about eating cake so we started celebrating by opening presents and eating cake right after breakfast. It brought to mind an old comedy bit by Bill Cosby about how he fed his kids chocolate cake for breakfast one morning because he rationalized that there was milk, eggs and flour in it. You know, healthy foods! His kids thought that he was the best and they started singing, "Dad is great! He gives us chocolate cake!" until the mom comes. Then the kids turn on him and cry about dad making them eat the cake, like it's a punishment! The difference here is that I would definitly be the one to initiate the eating of cake!
For Jason's birthday we went to Logan and went bowling. It was a lot of fun and Riley did a great job bowling by himself. Addi did well also. In fact, at one point during the game she was beating me, an adult who has actually taken a bowling class. What does it say when your 3 year old can bowl better than you?! (Don't answer that)
