Snow Day & Stitches
A couple of Saturday's ago we went down to Mt. Pleasant to have a snow day with all of the family. The kids had a great time sledding and just enjoyed being with each other. The only one who didn't enjoy it was Jason. This is because he decided to play follow the leader with my brother Richard on the snowmobiles. Richard was in the lead and went up to carve and Jason followed. The terrain wasn't what it seemed and when Richard came down, he stuck the front end of the sled well into the snow. Jason saw this and had to make a choice. Either hit Richard's sled in the back or go to the side. Well he chose to go to the side and when he came down he went over the handlebars breaking the windshield. I was not there, but I would have to give him an eight on the flight since he didn't quite "clear" the handlebars. Jason didn't say much about the crash until I saw him limping, then I asked, "how bad was it?" He told me he didn't even want to look. Due to the blunt force trauma of his shin hitting the handlebars, he received a gash through his wool sock and snow pants without any damage to the clothes. Needless to say we were all happy that he didn't break his leg. In fact, that was the first question Richard asked him after the crash. The best thing about this is that it happened on the first trip into the cabin where we were sledding!
